Pastor Brian Brodersen continues our study series though 1 Corinthians with his message entitled, “Is Christ Divided?” We are reminded that even though Christians are divided over many things, Christ is not divided. Our focus must be Jesus because only He will bring a divided people back together.

In his study through 1 Corinthians 3:1–10, Pastor Brian Brodersen reminds us that if we are ever going to make any progress in the gospel, we need to remember that we are all on the same team. We need each other, and we need the gifts of others whom God has anointed. Division should not be found within the church.

In his message entitled, “How Can the Biblical Sexual Ethic Be Good for Everyone?” Pastor Char Brodersen exhorts that the biblical sexual ethic does not refuse or bar people from God’s best. God’s best is offered to everyone freely through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 85 shares a picture of God's glory filling the earth, bringing life and renewal to all that is broken and defiled. Pastor Brian Brodersen and Pastor Char Brodersen share that this renewal is through a holy partnership of heaven and earth and is a partnership we are entering into together!

The Spirit moves forward the mission of Jesus through the followers of Jesus because the Spirit produces love. This is how we minister appropriately as a community! Pastor Char Brodersen shares his message entitled, “The Spirit-Filled Church” from 1 Corinthians 12:1–4.

Pastor Jordan Taylor encourages us to ask these questions: “What are the needs of our church community? Who needs to be built up? Who needs to be served? Who needs to be helped? And how can I use my spiritual gifts to meet those needs?” The challenge of 1 Corinthians 13 is that we are supposed to build up the church and serve others, but this is ineffective if we don’t love one another. In biblical terms, we could say the fruit of the spiritual gifts is rotten without love.

1 Timothy 1:12-20

God’s qualifications for leadership are so different than man’s. In this passage, we see how disqualified Paul was by human standards. But God is not looking for expertise, experience, or education. He is looking for faithfulness and a willing heart. Jesus does the enabling! Cheryl encourages the listener to watch and see what God will do with a willing heart. We will never know the glory and reality of enabling grace until we say “Yes” to Jesus and come under the full authority of His word!
